本文以一个典型的二次给水设备加压泵站为例子，该系统的主要设备配置如下：
PLC-变频器和软启动器控制系统由1个PLC控制站、2台变频器、2台软启动器、压力变送器、综合保护器、液位计及4台潜水泵等组成。4 台水泵中2台大泵的流量是5000m3/h，电机为150kW；2台小泵流量3000m3/h；电机为85kW。两台变频器控制1大1小的水泵，两台软启动器控制另外两台水泵。在出水总管上安装有压力变送器探测管网的压力，在清水蓄水池装有液位计，检测水池的液位并将信号送至PLC。每台潜水泵机都配有1台的综合保护器（安装在变频器或软启动机柜内），它收集机组的轴承温度、绕组温度、漏水报警信号、绝缘信号等。
